Austin Jackson may return to Mariners on Monday

(1:57 pm ET) Mariners outfielder Austin Jackson may return to the team on Monday, manager Lloyd McClendon said before Sunday’s game.
“He’s feeling a lot better. I think he’s real close,” McClendon said per MLB.com. “We’ll see how he feels after today’s game and go from there.”
Jackson is on the 15-day disabled list with an ankle injury. He’s hitting .310 in seven rehab games at Triple-A.
Kurt Suzuki, Danny Santana out of Twins lineup on Sunday

(1:52 pm ET) Twins catcher Kurt Suzuki was out of the starting lineup on Sunday. Suzuki was replaced by Chris Herrmann, who gets his ninth start behind the plate.
Shortstop Danny Santana also misses a start. He’s replaced by Eduardo Escobar for the fifth time this season.
Right fielder Torii Hunter also gets a day away from the field, starting at DH.
Pablo Sandoval misses fifth straight start for Red Sox

Brock Holt replaces Sandoval at third, his eighth start of the year at the hot corner.
Red Sox place Shane Victorino on disabled list

(1:40 pm ET) The Red Sox placed right fielder Shane Victorino back on the disabled list with a calf injury. Victorino left Saturday’s game in the third inning after stumbling while fielding a fly ball, due to the injury.
“I’m not saying he fought this, but, at the same time, he’s frustrated,” manager John Farrell said, per the Providence Journal. “He’s disappointed. But it’s kind of hard to plan inning to inning rather than game to game.”
Infielder Jeff Bianchi was called up from Triple-A Pawtucket, where he was hitting .302, to replace him on the roster.
Brett Lawrie out of Athletics’ lineup again on Sunday

(1:34 pm ET) Athletics third baseman Brett Lawrie is out of the starting lineup for the second straight game.
Lawrie has missed the time due to overall soreness. He’s replaced at third by Max Muncy, who gets his fourth time this year.
Robinson Cano moves from second to DH for Mariners

(1:31 pm ET) Robinson Cano gets a day off from the field on Sunday for the first time this season. After starting the first 42 games for the Mariners at second base, Cano is in the lineup as DH.
Brad Miller replaces Cano at second base, batting leadoff.
The Mariners also started Welington Castillo at catcher for the second time this year, giving Mike Zunino a rest.
Tigers’ Jose Iglesias out of lineup, but MRI clear

(1:15 pm ET) Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias is out of the lineup for Sunday’s game with a sore knee. An MRI and X-ray showed no structural damage, and he’s considered day-to-day, per MLive.
Andrew Romine replaces Iglesias at short.
The Tigers also gave catcher James McCann a rest. starting Bryan Holaday behind the plate.
J.D. Martinez moves to DH, replaced in right by Rajai Davis.
Jose Altuve out of Astros’ lineup for first time this year

Altuve snapped a string of 88 straight starts, dating back to last season. He’s replaced by Marwin Gonzalez, who moves over from shortstop.

Avisail Garcia returns to White Sox lineup

(1:04 pm ET) White Sox right fielder Avisail Garcia will return to the lineup on Sunday.
Garcia is batting fifth in the order and returns after two games with a sore knee.
The White Sox also flipped positions of Jose Abreu and Adam LaRoche for the game. Abreu will play DH for the sixth time this year, while LaRoche plays first for the seventh time.
