Purdue is going to be huge next season.
Five-star 2015 big man Caleb Swanigan has verbally committed to the Boilermakers. Swanigan had previously picked Michigan State, but he backed out of that choice earlier this month.
Following reports of his new school of choice, he tweeted this on Tuesday morning.

Swanigan’s Purdue pick means the Boilers will have him in addition to 7-footer A.J. Hammons and 7-2 sophomore-to-be, Isaac Haas. The Boilermakers were a No. 9 seed last season and went 21-13.
Swanigan’s legal guardian, Roosevelt Barnes, told Scout.com: “They had a good team last year. They had basically the same record as one of the Final Four teams in their conference in Michigan State. I think it gives him the best opportunity to do everything he wants as basketball player.”
Barnes attended Purdue in the late 1970s/early 1980s, and from the moment of Swanigan’s jettison from MSU, Purdue was considered the favorite to land him.
Swanigan reneged on his verbal commitment to Michigan State less than two weeks ago. Sources told CBSSports.com the surprise, initial MSU choice never seemed like the ideal fit from the get-go.
247 Sports ranks the 6-8 Swanigan as the fourth best center in the class of 2015.
Moments after word of Swanigan’s commitment came out, Purdue’s official Twitter account sent out this. (Swanigan’s nickname is “Biggie.”)

Purdue is not currently ranked in CBSSports.com’s Ridiculously Early Preseason Top 25 (and one), but stay tuned. An alteration could be coming soon.
