QB Greyson Lambert says he’s transferring from Virginia
Not long after he fell to second-string on the depth chart, Greyson Lambert is leaving Virginia.
The Cavaliers’ quarterback posted the following on Twitter on Saturday. He graduated the same day, meaning he can play immediately in 2015 as a graduate transfer.

Lambert started nine games for Virginia last season. However, he was passed by Matt Johns, whom he shared time with in 2014, on the team’s depth chart in April. According to coach Mike London, Johns had performed the best in spring practice.
He started three games while Lambert was out and threw for over 1,100 yards. Lambert threw for 1,972 yards, 10 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Lambert is also the second quarterback to leave Virginia this week. Redshirt freshman Corwin Cutler also said he was transferring. Per CavsCorner.com, Cutler said he was heading to Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College.
Virginia entered the final game of the season in 2014 needing to beat Virginia Tech to make a bowl. While both Johns and Lambert played, Lambert got most of the playing time and the Cavaliers lost 24-20 to fall to 5-7.
