Connor Barwin, Mark Sanchez visit train crash victims in hospital (Photos)
Two days after Monday night’s deadly Amtrak train crash in Philadelphia, Philadelphia Eagles players Connor Barwin and Mark Sanchez were at Temple University Hospital in North Philly to visit with victims and their families.
The two apparently showed up completely unannounced on Wednesday afternoon and handed out coffee and donuts to hospital staff and victims.
A few people who witnessed Barwin and Sanchez’s hospital visit shared the experience on Twitter.
According to CSN Philly, Temple University Hospital was one of four hospitals where victims of Amtrak Northeast Regional Train 188’s crash were treated.
The latest reports say the train was traveling at over 100 miles per hour when it derailed and crashed in Northeast Philadelphia. Per the Associated Press, the train “ran off the rails along a sharp curve where the speed limit drops to 50 miles per hour.” Eight have been confirmed dead in the crash and dozens were injured.
Temple Hospital said Thursday morning that eight passengers remain in critical condition.
