Colombia’s Carlos Munoz gave Honda a big boost Wednesday. He became the first driver to top 230 mph this month in Indianapolis 500 practice and finished the day with the fastest lap at 230.121 mph. Nobody else was even close. American Townsend Bell, who is attempting to start his first race this season, was second at 228.969. Tony Kanaan, the 2013 Indy winner, was third at 228.172. It was the easily the best day of the week for Honda, which two of the four fastest laps and six of the top 12.
