Las Vegas arena shown in drone flight around building (Video)
Behold the above glory of the worst kept secret in the NHL – Las Vegas’ hockey arena in the flesh and in video!
Of course, the league hasn’t voted on whether to award a Vegas franchise yet. The season ticket deposit drive has reached over 10,000, but the NHL has been careful to say anything official, even though people in Vegas seem to be shouting it from the rooftops.
The $375 million arena is based on the Las Vegas strip is supposed to seat 20,000 people. Again, interestingly the NHL hasn’t announced that Vegas, which has a group led by Bill Foley, wants hockey and seems to attract hockey players to its confines, will indeed have an NHL team.
But just imagine 20,000 people screaming at the Black Knights, or the Blackjacks or the whatevers in this building. Then look at the construction cranes and go back to work.
Considering this slow buildup to Vegas, could you imagine if Seattle beat them to the punch? Whatever, it’s going to happen, but this is all smart PR for the Vegas group to get people pumped for slot machines and hockey games. If anything this does add … something to the drone debate in the United States? Nah, it’s just a cool view.
