Gasol (hamstring) out for Game 4 vs. Cavs
Chicago Bulls forward Pau Gasol will not play Sunday in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to coach Tom Thibodeau.
Gasol has a strained left hamstring that he initially hurt in Game 2. He had hoped to play through the injury but wasn’t able to do that Friday night, scoring just six points in 22 minutes and leaving Game 3 in the second half.
He also sat out Saturday’s walk-through with the Bulls, Thibodeau said.
Thibodeau did not say who would start in Gasol’s place
Gasol is averaging 15.1 points and 9.9 rebounds per game in the playoffs.
Information from ESPN Chicago’s Nick Friedell contributed to this report.
