Reds fans start petition to send Kevin Gregg to Triple-A after poor outing
It’s only May, but it’s safe to say Cincinnati Reds’ fans aren’t enjoying reliever Kevin Gregg.
The 37-year-old has struggled to open the season, posting an 8.10 ERA through 10 innings. He had an opportunity to set things right Thursday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. It did not go well.
Gregg allowed three runs on three hits in just 2/3 of an inning. Gregg also walked two batters. With the outing, Gregg’s ERA jumped to 10.13.
The performance may have been the nail in the coffin for Reds’ fans. Following the game, some disgruntled supporters started a change.org petition urging the Reds to send Gregg to Triple-A.
The petition, which was created shortly after Thursday’s game, already has 87 supporters. While it’s an ambitious and creative way for Reds’ fans to blow off some steam, it doesn’t seem like this is what the founders of change.org envisioned when they started the website.

Whoever created the petition does get points for being inventive. Most fans will take to Twitter or Facebook to vent about their least favorite players, often to no avail. This may wind up having the same result, but at least it seems like a more dignified way to troll.
