Joc Pederson only has time for hitting home runs
Joc Pederson doesn’t waste his time hitting singles, doubles, or triples. Right now all he does when he hits a baseball is smash it out of the park.
Pederson went 2-for-4 with two home runs in the Dodgers’ 6-3 loss to Milwaukee on Wednesday making his last seven hits all homers. He’s off to an excellent start in 2015, his nine homers on the season puts him in a tie for the lead in the NL, and he’s made the front office look good in their decision to send Matt Kemp to San Diego.

Since he started the home run streak on Apr. 27, Pederson is hitting .267/.389/.1.000 and the first-place Dodgers are 6-3 during that stretch. It goes to show that batting average isn’t everything and the strikeouts are much easier to overlook, especially in small sample when a player can take a walk and every hit leaves the yard. This recent run has the 23-year-old rookie outfielder in some interesting company:
Pederson’s back in the leadoff spot for L.A. on Thursday against the Brewers. Will his next hit also be a home run?
