Clark the Cub stumps these Jeopardy! contestants
Clark the Cub is the mascot everyone loves to hate. Fans were quick to judge his design shortly after the Chicago Cubs introduced him. Even team president Theo Epstein has shown disdain for the mascot.
In his brief time on the job, Clark has received little respect in the baseball world. That continued Thursday during an episode of Jeopardy!
With the game on the line, the contestants were asked the following question during Final Jeopardy!:
Before we show the contestant’s responses, we’ll give those of you at home a moment to write down your answer.
If you guessed the Chicago Cubs, you’re right. Since you’re currently reading a baseball blog, we suspect most of you were able to answer the question pretty easily.
Thursday’s Jeopardy! contestants didn’t have such luck.
This contestant couldn’t even come up with a team name. He may have been going for the Portland Trailblazers, but we’ll never truly know. Either way, this was not the right answer.
Contestant No. 2 comes a bit closer, but still can’t provide the right answer. At least he was able to provide a team name.
Close, but no cigar. This is actually a pretty decent guess. Contestant No. 3 had the right city, at least. And it would make sense if the Chicago Bears introduced a bear mascot. Unfortunately, the answer was incorrect.

And so, the lack of respect for Clark the Cub continues. Being immortalized as an answer on Jeopardy! should be a good thing, but this turned out to be an embarrassing result for Clark.
It’s tough to make a pant less mascot feel more shame, but this one has got to sting.
