It is a dream matchup for NBA fans, the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Chicago Bulls. Derrick Rose against LeBron James. Tipoff is set for 7 ET.
Here is the official betting preview of Game 1. The Cavs are laying 4.5 to 5-points with a total of 194, though there are some 194.5s out there.
Public betting trends have a slight majority of 54 percent wagering on the Cavs, with 63 percent preferring the over. Lines-Maker.com reports these are two of the top three teams in the NBA in terms of net rating. Net rating is the difference between offensive and defensive ratings points per 100 possessions.
The Cavs are +13 with the Bulls at +11 in the playoffs so far. Cleveland has been much better on offense getting 110.2 points per 100 possessions compared to just 101 for Chicago. However, the Bulls are tops in postseason defense allowing just 90 points per 100 possessions while Cleveland is third best at 97.2.
Teaser bettors will want to note that each of the last six Cavs games was decided by four or fewer against the spread. They are 4-2 in those games but they are 5-8 the last 13 with a so-called sweat barometer of -4.70. This was previously known as margin of cover. Chicago is 6-2 their last eight, twice covering by at least 25 points.

Spread trends (all records against the spread): Chicago 7-1 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game. Cleveland is 4-10 to Central Division. The Bulls are 12-4 in the series including 7-2 in Cleveland.
Over/under angles: Chicago under 18-6 versus an opponent with a winning home record. Cleveland has gone under 20-8 home versus an opponent versus an opponent with a winning road record.
