Blackhawks withstand Wild comeback to take Game 1
Corey Crawford was his typical playoff self in Chicago’s 4-3 Round 2, Game 1 victory over the Minnesota Wild.
Unspectacular but good enough for the Blackhawks. It was Crawford’s first win this postseason in a game where he started. Against Nashville, Crawford only won the final contest, where he relieved backup Scott Darling in Game 6.
This led to some questions as to who would start for Chicago against the Wild in the second round of the playoffs. Crawford stopped 30 of 33 Minnesota shots on goal. He was also helped by a little luck (cough, Jason Pominville).
Defenseman Duncan Keith notched two assists and forward Teuvo Teravainen scored the game-winner at the 19:01 mark of the second period.
Chicago raced out to a 3-0 lead, but Minnesota tied the game in the second period off scores by Jason Zucker, Zach Parise and Mikael Granlnd before Teravainen’s goal.
Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk stopped 31 of 35 Blackhawks shots on goal in the loss.
