Nebraska WR Jariah Tolbert cited for drug paraphernalia
Nebraska redshirt freshman Jariah Tolbert had his second run-in with university police in the last year on early Thursday morning.
According to the Lincoln Journal Star, Tolbert was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after he and two female students were “found inside a parked car” with “the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle” at 2:54 a.m. According to police, one of the females admitted the three were smoking marijuana and “handed over a glass pipe with marijuana residue and a Swisher Sweets package containing one cigarillo.”
All three were issued citations.
Tolbert was previously arrested last June for possessing 4.4 grams or marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Tolbert also reportedly ran from officers after he was allegedly caught smoking between two tennis courts, but was quickly caught.
As a result of the incident, Tolbert appeared in court, pleaded guilty to the possession charge and was “fined $300,” per the Journal Star.
Tolbert, a 6-foot-3 wide receiver from New Orleans, caught an 18-yard touchdown in the Huskers’ spring game.
