Horse racing-Baffert aims for one-two punch at Kentucky Derby (Reuters)
Trainer Bob Baffert is dreaming about another crack at a rare 1-2 finish for his horses entered in the Kentucky Derby with American Pharoah and Dortmund the top two early betting choices for Saturday’s race. American Pharoah has been listed at 5-2 despite starting from the 18th gate in the 20-horse field, while Dortmund was rated 3-1 coming out of the eighth position for the 141st Derby on an expected fast track at Churchill Downs. It has been 67 years since stablemates Citation and Coaltown made Derby history with their top-two finish in 1948. It was a really good feeling that I had,” Baffert recalled about the ’98 Derby.
