Fan chases down foul ball, drops phone and beer in the process
Fans can sometimes go to crazy lengths to get their hands on a foul ball at a big league game. We’ve already seen fans use beer cups and popcorn buckets to make a play in the stands this season.
Our latest foul ball-seeker might have them all beat. This fan at Tuesday’s Royals-Indians game in Cleveland was so committed to the craft, he dropped his phone and his beer, even though it didn’t appear he had much competition for the ball.

We definitely admire the effort though. Check out this action shot that clearly shows the phone slipping out of the fan’s pocket and his beer beginning to spill as he jumped over the railing to grab the ball that had settled a few rows down.
Sure he had to pay a price — the cost of a beer, potential phone repairs, and maybe a bit of his pride — but he did ultimately walk away with his prize, which is the only thing that matters.
