Archie Bradley leaves start after being hit in the face with a line drive
Arizona Diamondbacks starter Archie Bradley left Tuesday’s game against the Colorado Rockies after being hit in the face with a line drive.
The event occurred in the second inning with Carlos Gonzalez at the plate. On the third pitch of the at-bat, Gonzalez hit an 82 mph changeup back at Bradley, hitting him on the right side of his face.

Bradley fell to the ground, and was attended to by trainers almost immediately. After some time, Bradley was able to signal that he was conscious, drawing some applause from the fans.
The trainers were able to sit him up, and Bradley was eventually able to walk off the field under his own power. His face had swelled considerably by the time he left the contest.
David Kadlubowski, a photographer for the Arizona Republic was able to capture a picture of Bradley as he was helped to his feet. WARNING: The picture is somewhat disturbing.
