East Tennessee State unveils new uniforms (Video)
East Tennessee State is set to return to the football field in 2015 for the first time since 2003, and on Monday, the program unveiled its brand new uniforms.
The Buccaneers will have six different combinations of blue, white and gold to wear when they hit the field in the fall. ETSU senior associate athletic director Scott Carter said in a release that the uniforms aimed to reflect the program’s past while bringing a modern feel.
“It is a special time to be a Buc and it has been a pleasure to take great care in embracing the past, present and future with these uniforms,” Carter said. “My friend Wink Baker proudly wore a uniform similar to this during his days as our quarterback in the early 1960s. Hopefully our students, fans and alumni will agree that these uniforms capture a classic look in our beautiful blue and gold.”
ETSU has officially rejoined the Southern Conference and will play its first game since Nov. 22, 2003 when the Buccaneers host Kennesaw State on Sept. 3.
