Sports Handicappers Split on NBA Betting Odds Say Sportsbook Trends – SportsBlog.com (blog)
Kevin Liles-USA TODAY Sports
Sports handicappers and bettors have certainly weighed in on the Saturday NBA playoff odds. Three of the four games have virtual splits in who the public is betting and only one overwhelming public sportsbook consensus on a total.
The Atlanta Hawks do have a 2-0 series lead over the Brooklyn Nets, yet have covered neither game. They are (-3) over Brooklyn with a total of 200.5. Easily the strongest consensus side of the day has 72 percent of gamblers taking Atlanta, with 53 percent wagering on the under.
Chicago is (-4.5) at Milwaukee with a total of just 189. A slight majority of 53 percent are betting the Bulls, 64 percent on the under. Riskers do prefer one home underdog, a tendency seen at a much higher rate in the postseason than the regular season. Golden State is a prohibitive (-7) at the Pelicans. However 51 percent of the betting public has tallied a bet on New Orleans. In what is easily the strongest agreement of the day, 88 percent expect the game to go over the total.
There is one home favorite on today’s betting ledger as Portland is (-3) at home to Memphis. Gamblers are evenly split on the side with 55 percent have anted up on the over.
Line movement is minimum, with the Hawks line staying steady while all three other games have gone up a half-point.
As far as MLB, Joe Duffy’s Picks continues a brilliant start with a free winner on Arizona. Duffy is anchor of OffshoreInsiders.com.
ARIZONA (DE LA ROSA +120) Pittsburgh (Burnett)
We have an early season underdog angle with very specific parameters that has won 211.1 units.
Please note: the reason the units jumped is I more accurately identified as underdog including laying up to -104 because they are underdogs as opposed to pick or plus after juice as previous units won was based. Also we redefined early season based on game number rather than month.
Arizona has been resilient this season, going 6-1 following a loss. Pittsburgh has just a .278 road OBP. The Bucs are 0-3 with AJ Burnett for (-3.2) units. Conversely the Diamondbacks are 2-1 with Rubby De La Rosa for (+1.5) units.
Joe Duffy’s Picks has one of the best portfolios since college basketball season with 14 MLB and NBA winners led by three Wise Guy plays in the two sports combined at OffshoreInsiders.com
