In Game 1, the Warriors let a big lead slip away in the fourth quarter, Game 2 saw a reversal as the Warriors showed their class and came through in the clutch. Klay Thompson led their late charge with 14 of his 26 points in the fourth to pull away for the 97-87 win.
New Orleans are down to the bare bones on their bench due to injuries and their over reliance on Davis and Gordon. You have to give them their due they managed to stay neck and neck with the best team in the NBA. Davis who was well covered still managed 26 points 10 rebounds and 2 assists along with a couple of steals in 45 minutes of play. Tyreke Evans who is nursing a knee injury played 41 minutes and put up 16 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists, while Eric Gordon added 23 including 5 from behind the arc.
The Pelicans were not executing as well offensively and that has a lot to do with their short bench. The last quarter of play saw just 16 points from the Pelicans with Davis shooting 0-5 from the field. The young Pelicans have proved they deserve to be in the playoffs and won’t go down in any game without a fight.
