Not only did Paul create a buzz with his play but Blake Griffin was almost equally impressive with 26 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. The rest of the Clippers all chipped in for this big win, but can they do it all the way through this series is the question.
On the flip side the Spurs as a whole had a less than spectacular game. Kawhi Leonard led the mediocre charge with 18 points while Green went 2-11, Parker 4 of 11 and the bench managed a poor 7-29 shooting 36.6% from the field, 30.3% from 3-point land and 53.8% from the charity stripe from the line.
Leonard hardly slowed down the play of Chris Paul while Diaw or Baynes could not match the offensive of Blake Griffin. This could be a problem going forward if the Spurs don’t find a way to limit the Clippers’ scoring production.
