The Grizzlies won the first game of the series in an easy fashion beating the Trailblazers 100-86. The question is can they do again tonight? Portland’s star forward La Marcus Aldridge managed to put up an impressive 32 points on the board, but had a less than stellar shooting night hitting just 13-34. He did manage to grab 14 rebounds and made four solid blocks. Lillard on the other hand had a mediocre night finishing with just 14 points on 5-21 opportunities from the field. It is evident that it will take more than these two to make it past this playoff round.
If Portland has any chance of beating Memphis they are going to have to have significantly more production beyond the top two. C.J. McCollum, Allen Crabbe and Kris Kaman will have to step it up as they were almost nonexistent in game one barely scratching out 7 points each.
The Grizzlies came out swinging in game 1 and imposed their will on the hapless Trailblazers. Beno Udrih came off the bench and managed an impressive 20 points in the Game 1 and it remains to be seen if he can keep up that tempo going further into the series. The Grizzlies managed to score 52 points inside the paint and created a massive head ache for Portland as they aren’t known for their abilities at rim protection.

Portland (1st – Northwest) at Memphis (2nd – Southwest)
The key to this game is the status of guard Arron Afflalo. He was missed immensely on Sunday by the Trail Blazers. The two starting guards in the game Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum combined for a putrid 6 of 29 shooting in the game. The good news while not guaranteed is that Aaron Afflalo should return in Game 2 and with that a surge in the probability of Portland competing in this game. The odds maker has tossed a 6 on the board for this game and we’ll grab a share of that.
