Final 2015 NBA Lottery order and pick scenarios – CBSSports.com
At the conclusion of the 2014-2015 season Wednesday night, the order for the 2015 NBA lottery was established. Here’s a look at the lottery and their odds. (HT: Tankathon)
*Utah and Indiana will split the average of the available lottery balls and then hold a tiebreaker to determine who gets the leftover.
The remaining order for the NBA Draft will go as follows:
15. Atlanta Hawks (from Nets)
16. Boston Celtics
17. Milwaukee Bucks
18. Houston Rockets (from Pelicans)
19. Washington Wizards
20. Toronto Raptors
21. Dallas Mavericks
22. Chicago Bulls
23. Portland Trail Blazers
24. Cleveland Cavaliers
25. San Antonio Spurs
26. Memphis Grizzlies
27. Los Angeles Lakers (from Rockets)
28. Boston Celtics (from Clippers)
29. Brooklyn Nets (from Hawks)
30. Golden State Warriors
Of note:
The Lakers have a 17.2 percent chance of losing their pick. They lose it if they fall back to six or higher, which would mean two different teams jumping them in the lottery. So less than two out of 10 times the lottery would be held, they would lose their pick. Pretty good.
The Knicks held on and lost Wednesday, securing them the No. 2 odds, but with a loss earlier in the week they could have secured the top spot. Shame. Now there’s a greater chance they wind up with the fourth or fifth pick than the first or second.
The Nets managed to avoid sending a lottery pick to the Hawks, and saved themselves that embarrassment.
The Heat managed to avoid sending the Sixers their pick. Again, close call.
Many teams are hoping to draft Karl-Anthony Towns. (USATSI)
