This fan cannot handle Shane Victorino falling into the stands
Interacting with a professional baseball player can be an exciting moment for any fan. Getting so close that you can actually touch one is a whole different thing entirely.

Some Boston Red Sox fans got to experience both recently. And while some were able to contain themselves, one failed the test in spectacular fashion. GIF comes via Reddit.com.
Update: As some Twitter detectives pointed out, this video is actually from 2013. While it’s not a recent event, we still contend that this fan is the worst.
There’s a lot going on here, but you’re going to want to keep your eyes on the guy in the red and blue shirt. We here at The Stew can count at least three ways in which he fails in epic fashion.
- This dude was way too far away from the situation to actually do anything. He just slides into the frame hoping to help/touch Shane Victorino. Don’t try to insert yourself into the situation, buddy.
- You’ll notice that a woman in the front row drops her phone onto the field. Victorino kindly picks up and returns the phone to the woman. Now, watch the video again. Why does the woman drop the phone? That’s right, it’s red and blue shirt man again. He’s responsible!
- You’ve failed in two spectacular ways thus far, guy. The incident seems to have died down, and you might just get out of this without any further embarrassment. Not a chance! Our hapless fan decides to raise his arms, as if to say, “Look at how great I am!” In the process, he knocks a woman’s beer directly into her face.
Sadly, the GIF ends there. We’ll never know what happened to arguably the worst fan of all time. Presumably, he made sure the first woman’s phone was all right and offered to replace the second woman’s beer.

If not, well, there’s a special place in the underworld for people like that. Given the tenacity of Boston fans, we’re guessing he paid up immediately.
