Carrasco hit in face with liner

Indians starting pitching Carlos Carrasco was just nailed in the face by a Melky Cabrera line drive. This is one of the scariest things we see in baseball, so let’s hope for the best. Here’s one view of the shot:

Hopefully that was enough to mitigate major damage done, but we won’t know for a bit how bad any injuries to Carrasco are.
Carrasco was carted off the field instead of walking, but he was conscious. He was holding his face and appeared to be, not surprisingly, in great pain.
We’ll know the extent of any injuries once the Indians provide the details. Until then, there’s no reason to speculate or do anything other than sending best wishes Carrasco’s way.
