Mets fan throws beer at Phillies outfielder Grady Sizemore
Memo to baseball fans everywhere: Don’t celebrate your team’s home opener by throwing beer at opposing players. Prior to Monday we didn’t think this was something that needed to be said, but thanks to an unruly New York Mets fan, here we are.

The Mets played their home opener at Citi Field against the rival Philadelphia Phillies, with reigning NL Rookie of the Year Jacob deGrom on the mound and optimism abound in Queens this season. Now, there’s going to be some face-palming too, after this happened:
Grady Sizemore was the target of the flying beer, which came during the fourth inning on a Daniel Murphy double into right field. You can see various Mets fans jawing at Sizemore as he fields the ball, which fine, that happens all the time.
The guy who tossed his beer is clearly the lowest-common denominator here. Not only did he act like a fool by throwing a beer at a professional baseball player, he wasted some cash. Beers don’t come cheap at MLB parks, you know.
