SAGINAW, MI — The Saginaw Spirit were the youngest team in the Ontario Hockey League by the end of the 2014-15 season, and they’re about to get younger.
Saginaw joins the league’s 19 other teams lining up to add future centerpieces of the franchise beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 11 in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.
Sudbury holds the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, while the Spirit hold the No. 6 overall pick.
It’s the highest Saginaw has picked since selecting Zach Torquato No. 3 overall in the 2005 draft.

In addition to the No. 6 overall pick, Saginaw holds two second-round picks and two thirds. The Spirit have one pick apiece in the fourth, sixth, eighth, ninth, 10th, 11th, 13th and 14th. They have two picks in the 12th round and 15th rounds.
Tye Felhaber was Saginaw’s first pick last season, No. 10 overall, and he broke the franchise record for goals by a 16-year old with 20.
Mitchell Stephens was the Spirit’s highest pick in 2013, No. 8 overall, and heads into his draft season as Saginaw’s highest rated NHL prospect.
