Fiers gave up seven hits and one walk while striking out eight. He had 89 pitches, 59 for strikes.
Fiers next pitches on Thursday, against St. Louis and John Lackey.
Jeff Locke goes six in Pirates’ win

(4/10/2015) Pirates starter Jeff Locke earned a win on Friday, going six innings in a 6-2 victory over the Brewers.
Locke allowed two runs on seven hits. He walked one and struck out two. Locke threw 90 pitches, 62 strikes.
Locke pitches next on Wednesday, against Detroit and Alfredo Simon.
Phillies Chad Billingsley happy with rehab start

(4/10/2015) Phillies pitcher Chad Billingsley pitched three and a third innings for Triple-A Lehigh Valley in an injury rehab start.
Billingsley is recovering from elbow surgeries each of the last two seasons. He allowed three runs on four hits, including homers to Bryce Brentz and Sean Coyle. Billingsley struck out four and walked one. 39 of his 58 pitches were strikes.
“My arm was loose, it didn’t tighten or [get] sore, and there were no issues so I am really was happy with that,” Billingsley said, per Philly.com. “And like I said, my mechanics will get there as I get out there.”
Rays’ David DeJesus gets 3 RBI in pinch-hitting situation

(4/10/2015) David DeJesus hit a three-run double in the top of the seventh for the Rays in Friday night’s 10-9 loss to the Marlins.
DeJesus came into the game and hit a double to center field. The hit cleared the bases and tied the game up at 7-7 in the moment. Asdrubal Cabrera then hit an RBI single to score DeJesus, putting the Rays up 8-7.
The seventh-inning hit was DeJesus’ only plate appearance of the game. In two appearances this season, DeJesus is 4 for 8.
Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton drives in three runs in win

(4/10/2015) Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton accounted for three RBI in Friday night’s 10-9 extra-inning win over the Rays.
Stanton went 2 for 3 in the game and drew a walk. Stanton was also hit by a pitch in the third inning.
Stanton hit a two-run double in the fourth inning and later hit an RBI single in the eighth, which put the Marlins up 9-8 at the moment. These were Stanton’s first three RBI of the 2015 season.
Marlins’ Christian Yelich hits walk-off single to beat Rays

(4/10/2015) Marlins outfielder Christian Yelich hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th inning to defeat the Rays 10-9 Friday night.
Yelich hit his single off of Brad Boxberger, which drove in Dee Gordon for the winning run. Yelich has a great game at the plate, going 2 for 5 with three RBI. Yelich hit a two-run single in the fourth inning.
Yelich also drew a walk in the game.
J.J. Hoover gets win, Aroldis Chapman save in Reds’ comeback

(4/10/2015) The Reds rallied in the eighth inning for a 5-4 win over the Cardinals on Friday. J.J. Hoover entered the game with the go-ahead run on second in the seventh and ended the inning with a strikeout. He then added a scoreless eighth to earn the win.
Hoover struck out three of the five batters he faced and allowed one hit.
Aroldis Chapman struck out two in the ninth to earn his second save of the season.
Chapman hit 101 mph in the ninth and saved his 115th career game, an MLB record for Cuban pitchers.
Cardinals’ Jordan Walden takes loss in relief

(4/10/2015) Cardinals reliever Jordan Walden took the loss, despite not allowing a hit, in a 5-4 game against the Reds on Friday.
Walden allowed two walks, two stolen bases and a sacrifice fly to break up a tie game in the eighth inning.
Walden recorded a strikeout and threw 11 strikes in 23 pitches.
Marlins’ Phelps, Dyson combine for six runs allowed against Rays

(4/10/2015) Marlins pitchers David Phelps and Sam Dyson both struggled during their appearances in the top of the seventh inning in Friday’s 10-9 win over the Rays.
Phelps was the first to relieve starter Dan Haren, who gave up only one run in six innings. Phelps only recorded one out and was attributed with four earned runs. Before he was taken out, Phelps walked Logan Forsythe with the bases loaded, which scored Asdrubal Cabrera.
Dyson then came into the game and struck out Rene Rivera. However, he then walked his next two batters. Six total runs scored for the Rays in the seventh.
Dyson, attributed with two earned runs, was relieved by A.J. Ramos.
John Lackey gives up four runs in no decision for Cardinals

(4/10/2015) Cardinals starter John Lackey gave up four runs in six innings but left with a no decision in the 5-4 loss to the Reds.
Lackey gave up four hits and two walks, striking out one. He threw 67 pitches, 47 for strikes.
Lackey’s next start is scheduled for Thursday, against the Brewers and Mike Fiers.
