No joke: Matt Harvey has ‘Dark Knight’ carved into his bat
We’ve spent the last 18 months concerned with Matt Harvey’s pitching arm, but as he makes his return to MLB action Thursday, facing the Washington Nationals after Tommy John surgery, his bats are also getting some attention.

Yes, we know he’s a pitcher and hitting isn’t really the most important part of his day. But, come on, the dude has “Dark Knight” on the knobs of his bats. That’s fantastic. Here they are, as captured by Adam Kilgore of The Washington Post:
Harvey was anointed as “The Dark Knight” by Sports Illustrated during his breakout 2013 season. It stuck, and apparently Harvey likes it enough to put on his bat.

We’re not sure these unseat Matt Duffy’s “Duffman” bat knob as the coolest in baseball, but they’re definitely cool. Bats aside, if Harvey can manage a return to form on the mound this season — and that seems likely — he’ll be exactly the hero Gotham City (and the New York Mets) need.
