You must see Hyun-jin Ryu rap in this Korean credit card commercial
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Hyun-jin Ryu spends the majority of his offseason back in Korea. Given that he’s one of the few Korean players in Major League Baseball, Ryu is a huge star back home.
Being a huge star means getting big endorsement deals and starring in commercials. This is nothing new for Ryu, for the past couple of seasons, he’s starred in excellent noodle commercials in Korea.

This year, Ryu has moved past noodles. In what is easily the best commercial he’s ever done, Ryu raps while attempting to get you to buy a Korean credit card (we think).
The all black garb reminds us of Johnny Cash, but the ability to spit fire is reminiscent of Dylan from “Chappelle’s Show.” The dance moves are quite up to Michael Jackson’s level, but Ryu seems willing to try, and that’s enough.

Ryu is currently rehabbing from a shoulder injury, which will delay the start of his season. While this commercial will sustain us until his return, we need more of his antics with Yasiel Puig.
Get back on the field soon, Ryu. It’s the one place where your fireballs are as hot as the fire you spit.
