Mark Trumbo has two triples in two games, is tied for MLB lead
Sentences I never thought I would hear for $100, Alex: Mark Trumbo is tied for the MLB lead in triples.
That’s right, the big Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder now has two triples this season, adding his second of the year Tuesday night in a 7-6 win over the Giants after hitting one on opening day, and is tied for the major league lead with speedy Athletics outfielder Sam Fuld.

In two games, Trumbo has already passed his triple total from all of 2014 and is just one away from matching his career-high in triples, set in 2012.
Yes, it’s early. Yes, it’s a small sample size. But there’s a good chance Trumbo doesn’t leg out another triple for the rest of the year, so savor his time on top it while it lasts.

To cover all our bases though, here’s your obligatory reminder that Mark Trumbo is on pace to finish the season with 162 triples. And yes, that would be a major league record.
