Henrik Sedin, via no-look pass, sets up brother Daniel for 700th NHL assist (Video)
Henrik Sedin recorded his 700th NHL assist Monday night during the Canucks’ win over the Los Angeles Kings. Like many of the Vancouver captain’s helpers over his career, it was magical and further emphasized the idea that the Sedins possess some form of ESP between them. You know, twins and all.
Down 1-0 midway through the third period, Henrik was looking like he was going to curl around the LA net with the puck; but, nope, he no-looked a backhand pass to Daniel, who fired a great shot through a crowd and past Jonathan Quick to even the score.
Chris Higgins scored the only goal in the shootout to give the Canucks a 2-1 victory and warm the Kings’ seat a little more. LA dropped to 2-8 in shootouts this season and the loss open the door for Calgary and Winnipeg to control their own destinies to the playoffs, leaving the defending champs to win out and hope results fall their way.
