The Packers and the Seahawks battled it out in the NFC title game last season and no surprise they have the lowest 2 odds to win the NFC this season.
Green Bay Packers
Odds: +300
The Packers had a quiet offseason and while they did not make a big splash in free agency they resigned the players they needed to and addressed their needs in the secondary with the draft. The D just has to be decent with Aaron Rodgers and Eddie Lacy in the backfield.
Seattle Seahawks
Odds: +350
The Seahawks did not do much in the off-season, but they had a solid draft, locked up RB Marshawn Lynch with a big contract, and added TE Jimmy Graham. However, the contract situation with Russell Wilson may be a distraction, but with the defense Seattle has and the experience on offense they have the talent to win it all again.
Dallas Cowboys
Odds: +600
The Cowboys let RB DeMarco Murray, who led the league in rushing last season, bit to the Eagles and that is a big loss. They have a solid WR corps led by Dez Bryant and Tony Romo is coming off a solid season, but the run game may struggle without Murray. On top of that the defense has issues even though they addressed that issue in the draft.
Philadelphia Eagles
Odds: +1200
DeMarco Murray and Sam Bradford were added in the off-season and without LeSean McCoy the offense has a whole new loss. Also the defense has many new players including Byron Maxwell, Kiko Alonso, Walter Thurmond and Eric Rowe. Bradford and Murray have to stay healthy and the pass defense, which ranked 31st in the league last season, has to be better with the new players added in the secondary.
Arizona Cardinals
Odds: +1600
The Cardinals got off to a blazing start last season, but they fell apart when Carson Palmer went down. The team needs to run the ball better and the defense added some key players in free agency, but catching Seattle in the NFC will be very tough.
New York Giants
Odds: +1800
The Giants want to forget about last season and with Jason Pierre Paul injuring his hand in the off-season and his contract issue he may be a team distraction. The run game is an issue and while Eli manning has the weapons he has to avoid the turnover and get better play from the offensive line to get back to the post-season.
The Falcons, Lions, and Panthers are all at +2000, but betting on them to reach the Super Bowl may be a big reach. Atlanta has Matt Ryan, but the rushing offense needs to improve, as he cannot do it all. Detroit is in the same boat with a great passing offense, but issues in the run game and the team may really miss Ndamukong Suh. Carolina also needs to find a running game and their defense needs to carry the team like they did a couple of seasons back.
