The Colts have the lowest odds to win the AFC this season, mainly because of their big off-season, but the Patriots and Broncos have good odds as well and a couple of pretty good Quarterbacks in Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.
Indianapolis Colts
Odds: +300
No shock the Colts have the lowest odds to win the AFC since they made some big moves on the off-season on D and brining in veteran WR Andre Johnson and RB Frank Gore. If these 2 can be productive, Andrew Luck keeps progressing under center, and the defense is improved the sky is the limit for Indianapolis this season.
New England Patriots
Odds: +400
2nd year QB Jimmy Garoppolo takes over under center for 4 games with Tom Brady suspended, but he should do well with the weapons he has and RB LeGarrette Blount in the backfield. The team lost a few guys from the defensive line, but the pass defense added a couple of CB’s, but the pass D may still be a concern this season in New England.
Denver Broncos
Odds: +500
Peyton Manning is back and he has to play better than he did in the last month of the season for Denver to get to the Super Bowl. Julius Thomas was lost in free agency and while the pass rush and run defense should be solid the secondary is thin and the pass D is the big weakness of the Broncos.
Baltimore Ravens
Odds: +1200
The Ravens play in the tough AFC North, but there are high hopes for them this season. Joe Falcco had a good season and Justin Forsett was a big surprise rushing for over 1,200 yards taking over for Ray Rice. The pass D only ranked 23rd last season, but that was mainly because of injuries. The run defense took a hit in the off-season with the loss of Haloti Ngata,
Buffalo Bills
Odds: +1600
The Bills have pretty good odds and the main reasons is their defense and the addition of RB LeSean McCoy. E.J. Manuel will be given another chance at QB and if the team can get good play under center from whoever is there Buffalo has a legitimate chance at a playoff berth even in the tough AFC East.
Cincinnati Bengals
Odds: +1800
Can Andy Dalton ever win a playoff game? He has to play well when it counts and if he does Cincy has a chance since they have a good defense, a solid RB in Jeremy Hill, and one of the best WR’s in the league in A.J. Green.
Kansas City Chiefs
Odds: +1800
Kansas City did sign WR Jeremy Maclin in the off-season, but is only 1 legitimate receiver enough? Not likely. Alex Smith is a good QB and Jamaal Charles is a stud, but the team needs some WR’s to step up. Also, if the run defense played like last season, they were torched, the offense will have to set the tone for the squad, which is not what they want.
Miami Dolphins
Odds: +1800
Maim locked up QB Ryan Tannehill with a big contract and the team really broke the bank signing free agent Ndamukong Suh. Still, the run game had to help Tannehill out, as he has not shown he can carry a team with his arm. Also, playing in the tough AFC East another .500 season may in the cards for Miami.
