Kansas City Chiefs (2-2) vs. Oakland Raiders (4-1)
The Raiders have won three in a row and they are tied with the Denver Broncos atop the AFC West. Their defense has not been very good, but they are winning with a balanced offense that ranks 8th in the league in passing yards per game and 9th in rushing yards per game.
The Chiefs were throttled in their last game losing 43-14 and both of their losses this season have come on the road. Their offensive line is dealing with some injuries, so QB Alex Smith will have his hands full facing Khalil Mack and the Oakland pass rush.
In their last games the Raiders beat the San Diego Chargers 34-31 in a barnburner and the Chiefs were crushed by the Pittsburgh Steelers 43-14.
On the season the Chiefs are 1-3 ATS with an O/U record of 2-2 and the Raiders are 3-2 ATS with an O/U record of 4-1.
The Raiders were a little lucky to escape with a win last week facing the Chargers, as San Diego muffed a punt late in the 4th quarter and then at the very end of the game they mishandled a snap on a FG that would have sent the game to OT.
Alex Smith has been decent this season even though he does not have a very good WR corps and with the injury issues on the offensive line. In the loss to Pittsburgh he was 30/50 for 287 yards with two TD and one INT. One good thing KC has going for them is that they may get back Jamaal Charles back from injury and he and Spencer Ware have to run the ball in this game. Hard to believe Oakland is 4-1 with a defense that ranks dead last in the league against the pass and 28th against the run.

Well, no sophomore slump for Raiders’ QB Derek Carr, who has 11 TD and only two INT on the season and in the win over the Chargers he passed for over 300 yards. He has Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree as a great WR duo and while the Chiefs rank a respectable 8th in pass defense they were burned for five TD through the air in their loss to the Steelers.
The Raiders are running the ball well even though they do not have one RB that has over 175 rushing yards. They have three solid RB’s that are getting it done in Jalen Richard, Latavius Murray, and DeAndre Washington, who are all averaging over 4.3 yards per carry. The Chiefs only rank 18th in the league in run defense.

Kansas City Chiefs at Oakland Raiders Free Pick
The best word to describe the Raiders defense this season is putrid. Three of their five opponents have their season high yardage and Atlanta and Tennessee have registered their second best. That said the Chiefs’ offense is near the bottom of the league in a ton of offensive stats and while we think that the will be able to run in this game, we’re not sold on their ability to outscore the fifth ranked scoring offense of the Raiders.
