Week 1 NFL odds for preseason football picks against the spread are up for all sports handicappers. As a general rule of thumb in opening week of the NFLX the sportsbooks deviate very little from the home team being a three-point favorite with a total generally in the mid-30s.
Such is the case more than usual in 2016 with no road favorites nor a home favorite of more than four-points. Every posted total is between 35 and 37.5 with the exception of New Orleans Saints vs. New England Patriots at a not-so-lofty 39.5.
The NFL Hall-of-Fame game is not considered part of Week 1, “Week Zero” many gamblers refer to it according to Stevie Vincent of OffshoreInsiders.com. Six games will be played on Thursday, August 11 and conclude with one game on Sunday night.
