Chris Sale suspended five days after bizarre clubhouse incident
The other shoe has dropped on the bizarre clubhouse incident involving Chicago White Sox ace Chris Sale.
General manager Rick Hahn announced Sunday that Sale has been suspended five days for “violating team rules, insubordination and destroying team equipment.” He’s also been fined an undisclosed amount.

Yahoo Sports Jeff Passan has confirmed that Sale was sent home before Saturday’s game after cutting up the throwback uniforms they had been scheduled to wear. Sale, who was slated to start the game, refused to wear the uniforms because they’re uncomfortable. He reportedly confronted White Sox brass asking that the uniforms be changed, but was denied.

Sale’s actions have been described as a temper tantrum by some, and flat out concerning behavior by others. That he went as far destroying the uniforms is strange at the very least, and few could argue the White Sox acted irrationally by suspending him.
White Sox manager Robin Ventura indicated that Sale would be available in their upcoming series against the Chicago Cubs, so it appears Saturday was counted as part of his suspension. If so, he would eligible to be start on Thursday at Wrigley Field.
