Red Sox announcer shaken up after being hit by wind-blown monitor
Crazy wind gusts wreaked havoc at Fenway Park on Saturday night and even sent announcer Jerry Remy home early with a bump on his head.
According to reports, Remy was struck on the head by a television monitor that blew off a shelf in the NESN booth. Fortunately, it sounds like Remy has avoided a serious injury, but he was still checked by doctors and then sent home to rest.

There was at least one report of a 43-mph wind gust during the first inning as a storm front approached the Boston area. Strong winds continued throughout the early innings, causing chaos for fielders as they attempted to gauge fly balls.
I've never seen a baseball game played in the middle of a hurricane before. This should be fun.

Let’s check in with Red Sox right fielder Michael Martinez to see if he agrees with the fun part.

Yeah, we didn’t think so.
The game is still only in the fifth inning with Boston holding a 7-4 lead. The wind is still blowing too, so we might be in for a really crazy night in Boston. Stay tuned.
