Ferranto has made 17 starts during his UNC career, including 13 at left tackle in 2014. He also started four games in 2015 and was expected to fill the void left by All-American Landon Turner at right guard. He was listed with the first-team offense on the team’s preseason depth chart.

The other four starters – Bentley Spain at left tackle, Caleb Peterson at left guard, Lucas Crowley at center and Jon Heck at right tackle – all return from last season. Junior Brad Henson was listed as the second-team right guard behind Ferranto. Henson has appeared in 25 games combined over the past two seasons, mainly on special teams.
