Reports: Ex-Michigan RB Derrick Green headed to TCU
Derrick Green has reportedly found a home in the Big 12 for his final season of college football.
According to multiple reports, Green, a former Michigan running back, has signed with TCU as a graduate transfer. Green earned his degree from UM, so he will be eligible immediately to suit up for the Horned Frogs if the transfer comes to fruition.

Green arrived at Michigan in 2013 under much fanfare. He was rated by Rivals as the top running back in the country in his class and the eighth-best prospect overall, but never lived up to his five-star hype.
His best season came in 2014 when he emerged as Michigan’s top back. He rushed for 471 yards and three touchdowns on 82 carries in only six games before missing the rest of the season with an injury. He returned in 2015 for UM’s first season with Jim Harbaugh at the helm but had only 157 yards and two touchdowns in nine games as a reserve. He did not travel to the Citrus Bowl with the team in what Harbaugh called an “internal matter.”
Overall in 28 games as a Wolverine, Green rushed for 898 yards and seven touchdowns on 212 carries.
At TCU, Green could potentially fill the void left by the graduation of another Green – Aaron Green – who rushed for 1,272 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2015.
TCU, coming off an 11-2 record, returns juniors Kyle Hicks (55 carries for 262 yards, 3 TDs) and Trevorris Johnson (43 carries for 262 yards) along with sophomore Shaun Nixon (16 carries for 66 yards). The Horned Frogs also welcome two true freshmen – four-star Sewo Olonilua and three-star Darius Anderson – to the running back depth chart.
