Duke picks Jefferson, Jones, Allen as team captains – Bloomington Pantagraph
DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Duke has picked Amile Jefferson, Matt Jones and Grayson Allen as its captains this season.
Coach Mike Krzyzewski announced the selections Friday.
Jefferson will be a team captain for the third time in his five seasons at Duke while Jones was picked for the second time and Allen is a captain for the first time. Jefferson received a fifth season of eligibility after he missed the Blue Devils’ final 27 games last season with a broken foot.
Jones averaged 10.4 points while starting all 35 games last season, and Allen averaged 21.6 points during a breakout 2015-16 season.
