DraftKings Early MLB Picks For July 4
Ten of the games are in the early tournament, so that makes it the larger tournament of the day. We have plenty of options for figurative fireworks before you get to the literal ones!
NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. The best lineups usually have a mix of proven stats and hot players.
Joel De La Cruz was solid in his first major league start in a loss to Cleveland. His reward is a shot at the Phillies today. He could post very good numbers if you decide to roll the dice with him. The downside is that he only had one strikeout in six innings.
Tyler Anderson has never faced the Giants, but he has put up a sparkling 2.66 ERA in his first four major league starts with 24 strikeouts in 23.2 innings pitched. This game is also in San Francisco, so Anderson could be a great sneaky pick.
Cody Reed got lit up by the Cubs in his last start, allowing seven runs in only four innings. He gets the same team again today. Stay far away from this one.
