Julian Edelman the latest Boston star to make pitch to Kevin Durant
New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman managed to get out a late stump for the city of Boston before prized NBA free agent Kevin Durant picks where he’ll be playing next season.
Edelman even took the extra step of wearing a green Celtics jersey with the No. 35, which Durant wore in college at Texas and in his first nine seasons in the NBA. However, the Celtics have retired the No. 35 in honor of Reggie Lewis.
Edelman’s pitch follows the cross-sport recruitment by Pats teammate Tom Brady and Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz. Brady joined Celtics brass this weekend in the Hamptons, where Durant is vacationing, while Ortiz provided a more subtle endorsement of the city of Boston.
Yo @KDTrey5 sorry I couldn’t make the meeting today but Brady will tell u they don’t call Boston the City of Champions for nothing 🏆🏆🏆

Durant is expected to make a decision by Monday.
