DB Chad Clay dismissed by Georgia
A second alleged offense has gotten Chad Clay dismissed from Georgia.
The Bulldogs dismissed the early-enrollee freshman defensive back Wednesday night after he was arrested on theft charges. Clay was previously involved in a dorm incident with BB guns in April along with another player.
According to UGASports.com, Clay was arrested for “theft by taking” and “was booked into the Clarke County Jail at 6:04 p.m. ET and later released at 7:17 p.m. on a $1,500 bond.”

“Unfortunately, Chad will no longer be a part of our football program” Georgia coach Kirby Smart said in a statement. “It is very disappointing, and we wish him the best in his efforts to continue his education.”
Clay and defensive tackle Julian Rochester were arrested for the BB guns in the dorm in April. The players’ attorney said at the time that the two were shooting empty solo cups in their dorm room and the possession and use of the BB gun violated a rule regarding firearms on campus.
A native of Suwanee, Georgia, Clay was a three-star recruit in the class of 2016.
