LeBron gets Steph with another chasedown block in heated Game 7
LeBron James punctuated his brilliant performances in Game 5 and 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals with signature chasedown blocks, including one on reigning MVP Stephen Curry that featured a bit of post-swat trash talk that generated headlines and raised eyebrows as James’ Cleveland Cavaliers pushed Curry’s Golden State Warriors to a winner-take-all Game 7. James got back to his rim-protecting ways in the second quarter, snuffing out another Steph bunny and generating a bit of a kerfuffle thereafter:

At this point, I wouldn’t blame Steph for seeing LeBron’s shadow in his nightmares. I also wouldn’t blame him for dribbling it out of the paint and deciding to run offense instead of trying to go 1-on-pterodactyl, but then, I suppose Curry deserves credit for continuing to attack even though he’s got a pretty good idea by now that his layups are going to get crammed back down his throat.
After the soaring rejection, Curry walked right at James, jawing at him and bumping him in the chest. James betrayed no emotion as Steph’s right-hand man Draymond Green came over to step in between Curry and Draymond’s series-long nemesis. Some glares and words were exchanged, but no fireworks beyond that; with so much at stake on Sunday night, neither MVP could afford to risk any sort of explosion that would put his team in jeopardy.
