P- Jacob deGrom (vs. Atlanta Braves): $11,300. deGrom has had some pretty bad luck recently when it comes to run support, but this hasn’t affected how well he has pitched. In his last five starts, he has four quality starts and he dominated the Pirates’ over his last two starts. In six career starts against the Braves, deGrom owns a 3-2 record with a 1.89 ERA.
P- Mike Fiers (vs. Cincinnati Reds): $6,500. Fiers is coming off one of his best starts of the season, in which he gave up two runs and five hits against the Rays in seven innings of work. He is pitching at home, which is very good. He owns a 3.67 ERA at home, compared to a 6.19 ERA on the road. In 67 career at bats against Fiers, the Reds’ lineup is batting .179, with one home run, seven XBH, 10 RBIs, 14 strikeouts, and a .242 OBP.
C- Yadier Molina (vs. Martin Perez): $3,200. In his last 10 games, Molina is batting .371, with three RBIs, five runs, and a .405 OBP. At only $3,200, Molina is a very safe and cheap option for Sunday.
1B- Edwin Encarnacion (vs. Chris Tillman): $5,300. In 51 career at bats against Tillman, Encarnacion is batting .314, with three home runs, six XBH, and a .364 OBP. In his last seven games, he is batting .481, with six home runs, 14 RBIs, and two stolen bases.
2B- Brian Dozier (vs. Nathan Eovaldi): $3,900. Eovaldi has struggled to throw off-speed pitches, which means Dozier will be able to sit on his fastball all game. Dozier has been red hot recently, batting .324 with a .452 OBP in his last 10 games.
3B- Adrian Beltre (vs. Mike Leake): $3,700. In his last 10 games, he is batting .341, with one home run, eight RBIs, four runs, and a .386 OBP. The Rangers’ lineup has hit Leake very well throughout his career, so this should help Beltre with his potential run production opportunities.
SS- Carlos Correa (vs. Brandon Finnegan): $4,100. In his last 10 games, Correa is batting .256, with one home run, five RBIs, six runs, and a .370 OBP. He is getting on base at a very good rate, which makes him a fairly safe play.
OF- Kevin Pillar (vs. Chris Tillman): $4,100. In Pillar’s last seven games, he is batting .344, with four home runs, and six RBIs. In 18 career at bats against Tillman, Pillar is batting .333, with three home runs, and five RBIs. The Blue Jays’ offense has destroyed Tillman throughout his career, so Pillar should see plenty of run production opportunities.
OF- Nomar Mazara (vs. Mike Leake): Mazara has struggled over his last 10 games, but that could come to an end on Sunday. He is facing a struggling right-handed pitcher, which should be in Mazara’s favor. Throughout the season, he is batting .321 against right-handed pitchers, compared to .253 against lefties. At only $3,100, he provides a huge upside for this price.
OF- Nelson Cruz (vs. David Price): $4,800. In 22 career at bats against Price, Cruz is batting .364, with two home runs, and a .417 OBP. There will be a 12 MPH wind blowing out towards the Green Monster, so this could provide some extra power potential for Cruz.
