Paris (AFP) – Cristiano Ronaldo is set to win a Portugese record 128th cap against Austria in Euro 2016’s Group F on Saturday. Ronaldo will surpass the record shared with former Portugal great Luis Figo and is also looking to become the first player to score in four European Championships at the Parc des Princes. Paris (AFP) – Cristiano Ronaldo is set to win a Portugese record 128th cap against Austria in Euro 2016’s Group F on Saturday.
Ronaldo will surpass the record shared with former Portugal great Luis Figo and is also looking to become the first player to score in four European Championships at the Parc des Princes.
Portuguese coach Fernando Santos handed starts to Ricardo Quaresma, forming an attacking trio with Ronaldo and Nani. William Carvalho was given the nod in midfield as Joao Mario and Danilo dropped to the bench following Portugal’s 1-1 draw with Iceland.
Austria coach Marcel Koller made three changes, two of which were enforced, as Sebastian Prodl, Stefan Ilsanker and Marcel Sabitzer came into the side after a shock 2-0 defeat to Hungary in their first game.
Aleksandar Dragovic misses out through suspension and Zlatko Junuzovic is sidelined by an ankle injury, with Sabitzer preferred to Janko up front.
