Even the bullpen door can claim victory against the Braves
As you’re probably well aware, things have not been going well for the Atlanta Braves this season.
In you need a refresher course though, or just some visual evidence of their futility, we’ll direct your attention to the following video. It features Braves reliever Chris Withrow waging war against the bullpen door at Citi Field as he attempts to enter Friday’s game.
Spoiler: He doesn’t win.
Maybe those things should come with instructions. After all, Withrow went through all the natural motions and emotions usually required to open a door. He pushed. He pulled. When those didn’t work, he got annoyed and tried to break it down. Nothing worked though, and eventually he had to be rescued.

That’s obviously not a good way to start the work day., and things wouldn’t get much better from there. Withrow entered with two outs and one runner on, and then allowed a single to James Loney and a walk to Kevin Plawecki to load the bases.
His final line looked something like this: 0 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 blown entrance.
Fortunately for Withrow, the Braves did hold on for a 5-1 victory. Unfortunately for all of Atlanta, the Braves still have the NL’s worst record at 21-46, and they’re still an MLB-worst 21 1/2 games out of first place.
