Bob Melvin offers unique spot for Draymond Green to watch Warriors
in the groin (an injury baseball players have become all too familiar with lately).
If the Golden State Warriors win the NBA championship Monday, they’ll have to do so without forward Draymond Green. Green was suspended for the contest after striking Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron JamesPer the rules of his suspension, Green will have to leave the team’s arena two hours before game time. While he can’t be in the same building as his teammates during the contest, he’s going to be close. Green is expected to watch the contest from a luxury box over at O.co Coliseum. The Oakland Athletics stadium is just a three minute walk from Oracle Arena.
While watching the Warriors from a luxury suite sounds nice, A’s manager Bob Melvin had a more unique suggestion. Instead of Green having the same ole experience in the box, Melvin suggested Green watch the Warriors from the manager’s office, according to Joe Stiglich of CSNBayArea.
“He could sit in my office and watch the game if he wants to, if he wants to be in close proximity,” Melvin joked.
We aren’t sure what kind of spread Melvin has in his office, but it probably can’t beat what the A’s are serving in the luxury suite. Aside from the frosty cold ones in Melvin’s mini-fridge, Green would probably have to snack on granola bars in the manager’s office.
Then again, maybe it’s just a case of bad branding. If the manager’s office were known as the manager’s suite, we could see how that would be a more desirable place to watch a game.

This is Oakland, though, so you probably want to stay as far off the field level as possible. Green wouldn’t want sewage seeping under the doorway as he watches his club try to win another championship.
