Love takes part in shootaround before game 3
INDEPENDENCE, Ohio — Forward Kevin Love took part in a portion of the Cleveland Cavaliers‘ shootaround Wednesday morning, a positive step in his recovery from a concussion suffered in Game 2 of the NBA Finals.
The team says Love remains questionable for Game 3 on Wednesday night. He has been following the league’s concussion protocol, which requires him to gradually increase his physical activity. A source told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin on Tuesday that the star forward was optimistic about his chances of playing in Game 3.
Love wasn’t on the floor with his teammates when the media was allowed inside.
The 27-year-old missed the finals last year after dislocating his shoulder earlier in the playoffs and undergoing surgery. He’s been a major contributor this postseason, and the Cavs need him if they are going to cut into Golden State’s 2-0 lead in the series.
Love was injured in the first half of Sunday’s game when he was accidentally elbowed in the back of the head by Warriors forward Harrison Barnes.
