D3 player facing charges for drive-by shooting
Louisiana College wide receiver Farron Jones is facing charges in a drive-by shooting that allegedly occurred Sunday afternoon.
Jones is charged along with another man, Justin Babin. The two allegedly fired shots from a car at a house in Alexandria, Louisiana. The two were then pulled over and arrested on Monday after they were occupying a car that matched the description from Sunday’s allegations. When they were pulled over, they allegedly had marijuana in the car.
Jones was charged with assault by drive-by shooting and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Babin was charged with illegal possession of a stolen firearm and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Jones, an honorable mention preseason D3 All-American, had nine catches for 153 yards and two touchdowns in 2015. He played in five of 10 games. He’s also been suspended from the team.

“Farron has been suspended from the football team — pending the outcome of the investigation,” Louisiana College coach Dennis Dunn told the site. “The college has also taken appropriate disciplinary action.”
Jones was third on the team with 36 catches and 395 yards in 2014 and is a native of New Orleans. He’s currently held in jail with no bond.
